privacy policy

Effective 28 August 2026

This is the privacy policy we actually operate by. It explains, in plain language, what information VouchTails collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, our Grievance Officer is one email away — details are at the bottom of this page.

Who we are

VouchTails is operated by VouchTails Private Limited (CIN U62099TN2026PTC191655), with its registered office at Innov8, Millenia, Perungudi, Chennai 600096, Tamil Nadu, India. We run a technology platform that connects pet parents with independent, identity-verified pet-care providers — dog walkers, pet sitters, and boarding hosts — starting in Chennai.

We are an intermediary. The care itself is delivered by the independent providers you book through us, not by VouchTails. This policy covers the information we handle as the operator of the platform.

What we collect, and why

We only ask for what we need to match you with the right care and to keep that care accountable. Here is the full list.

From pet parents

  • Your name and phone / WhatsApp number — so a provider can reach you and we can send live updates about a booking.
  • Your pet's details — breed, age, temperament, routine, and any medical or dietary needs — so the person caring for them knows what they're doing.
  • Your approximate location / neighbourhood — so we can match you with providers nearby. We ask for a precise address only once a booking is confirmed and the service requires it.

From providers

In addition to the basics above, anyone applying to provide care completes identity (KYC) verification. For that we collect:

  • Identity and address documents — such as government-issued ID, collected and verified through our KYC process and stored securely, so that every provider on VouchTails is a real, verified person. These documents are used only for verification.

While a service is happening

  • Live location during an active booking — while a walk or visit is in progress, the provider's live location is shared with the pet parent so you can see the care as it happens. We don't track anyone's location outside an active service.
  • Messages and photos — the in-app conversation between a pet parent and their provider, and the photos shared in it (including service updates), are stored so both sides have a record of the booking and we can help if something is disputed.

Payments

Payments on VouchTails are processed by Razorpay, our payments partner. Your card, UPI, or bank details are entered with Razorpay and handled by them under their own security standards — VouchTails never sees or stores your full payment credentials. We only receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with limited details we need for receipts and refunds.

Your payment for a booking is protected: it is collected through Razorpay into VouchTails' account and paid out to the provider after the service is completed. This protects both sides of every booking.

How we use your information

  • To match pet parents with suitable, identity-verified providers nearby.
  • To set up, confirm, and run bookings — including live updates while a service is happening.
  • To verify provider identity and keep the platform trustworthy and safe.
  • To process protected payments, issue receipts, and handle refunds.
  • To respond to your questions, grievances, and support requests.
  • To meet our legal obligations and keep records the law requires us to keep.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the people and partners who make a booking work — the provider you're matched with and our payments partner (Razorpay) — and only to the extent each of them needs it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide the service and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. When you ask us to delete your data, we do so unless we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, tax or transaction records) — in which case we keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have real rights over your data, and we honour them:

  • Access — ask us what personal data of yours we hold and how we use it.
  • Correction — ask us to fix anything that's wrong or out of date.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data when we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it.
  • Withdraw consent — change your mind at any time, as easily as you gave consent.
  • Grievance redressal — raise a concern and have it addressed (see below).

To exercise any of these, email us at contact@vouchtails.com and we'll take it from there.

Keeping your data safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data — and your pet's — with the care we'd want for our own.

Children

VouchTails is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their information, tell us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

As VouchTails grows, this policy may change. When it does, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let you know directly.
